From Tuloy Level 5 students (the equivalent of 3rd and 4th year high school) School Year 2002-2003

  • When I entered Tuloy in 1996, people here made me realize that life is really important but it was not that easy to internalize until one day, Father told this quotation from Don Bosco "You got one soul, you save it everything is alright." And it really struck me. That was the time that I really valued the life that God gave me.

  • I especially learned in Tuloy to open my heart to others by serving them, forgiving them and sharing my talents with them. I learned how to be happy here in Tuloy and I learned how to make others happy.

  • Now, I´m persevering in my studies and learned to choose what kind of friends I should go with. I also learned how to value friendship and how to give importance to the efforts of my teachers.

  • Compared to Formal education, schools outside are more advanced in lessons. But I learned a lot here because our teachers gave us the best, even if they are tired in preparing lessons.

  • I have learned so many things here in Tuloy from academics to music to sports but the most important thing I learned here is how to pray. I always bear in mind what Fr. Rocky told us that "Ang Tuloy ay nagpapatuloy dahil sa panalangin." (Tuloy is able to do its work through prayer.) That´s why I´m always praying so that Tuloy will continue its mission to be able to help more children like me.

  • I realized that studying hard is not the only thing that you can learn here but the most important thing is being closer with God. I also learned how to persevere in my studies because I really want to finish and to prove to my parents that I really change.

  • When I came to Tuloy I never expected that my life will change. I learned how to pray; play sports like basketball, volleyball and other table games; and I also learned to love myself, my neighbor and how to become a good friend and a good listener to the people who guide and protect me so that I will have a better future.

  • I would like to thank all benefactors, teachers and volunteers who love Tuloy. If not for them, I would not be a better person now and I would not be able to study to be able to achieve my goals in life.
