  Part-Time Volunteers

As the number of children continues to grow, the number of caring adults who attend to their needs also needs to increase. Since the Foundation relies on donations for its expenses, it cannot afford to employ all the people that it requires and would therefore need to solicit the assistance of volunteers. In addition, the generosity and compassion of volunteers help keep the Foundation going since this type of work continues only through the goodwill of people.

Volunteers who come every day to visit the children have become the source of inspiration for many of them. Composed of various types of people, including young professionals, housewives, retirees, and newly graduates, volunteers provide the children with much needed attention, support, friendship, and guidance.

There are about 120 Tuloy Volunteers who come regularly to the Village. Daytime volunteers assist in the offices or tutor children who have difficulty coping in the classroom. Nighttime volunteers hold tutorials, helping children with their homework. There are also weekend volunteers who manage clubs where the children can develop their talents in singing, acting, and visual arts.

Like older brothers and sisters, the volunteers help the children cope with the concerns and worries of growing up. They also serve as role models, showing the children what they too can become one day if they persevere in their studies.

Among the activities where volunteer involvement is strong are the summer camp, annual sportsfest, and Marian celebrations.
