  Tuloy Oasis Nature Therapy Campsite

Tuloy Oasis Nature Therapy Campsite      In 1998, Tuloy began developing a 4.7-hectare piece of land in Burlongan, Magdalena, Laguna. It was given to Tuloy by a donor who wishes to remain anonymous. Here, Tuloy built an Agricultural Center -- a farm and campsite -- where street children can avail of nature therapy. Calloused by their harsh experiences in the streets, these children develop roughness in all the aspects of their behavior. Communing with nature helps expedite the healing process. Resident and non-resident children are brought regularly for nature and group therapy, values formation, and retreats that are aimed at further reforming them so they can become more refined.

Aside from providing a rehabilitation program in the Streetchildren Village, holding special activities in a rural area can be crucial to their healing process since the peaceful environment and beauty of nature can make a lot of difference to a child who has been exposed to the roughness and harshness of street life. This Center also gives the children opportunities to learn how to plant vegetables and trees, and take care of animals and fowls.

The existing structures include the residence for the children, a two-bedroom staff house, a multi-purpose hall and kitchen, sawali houses, a basketball court, and fishponds. A two-storey building for children undergoing nature therapy was also constructed. Major funders of the Center include Australian New Zealand Association (ANZA) and Australian New Zealand Chamber of Commerce - Philippines (ANZCHAM), CASPAR Foundation (of Japan), Japanese Embassy, and some individual donors.
