Wikang Filipino Simbolo ng Kultura at Lahing Filipino... this was the theme for this year´s Linggo ng Wika program. The students from Level 1 to Voctech presented simple yet very informative and even funny numbers starting with Alamat ng Palaka followed by Alamat ng Kawayan at Alamat ng Manga. The last number presented was an interpretative dance on the history of Philippine revolutions. Awards were then presented to Tuloy kids who won in the Pilipino slogan, essay, and poster contests.
Tuloy Volunteers celebrated their 10th year anniversary in Tuloy last August 10, 2005 with a Mass. It was a well-attended affair despite the rainy weather. Fr. Rocky Evangelista started the Mass with a "0" wish. It means, if the volunteers have stayed in Tuloy for 1 year, add a zero to this and it becomes 10 - ten more years in Tuloy. He said the growth in the role of the volunteers when he started Tuloy some 12 years ago to what it is today has been very vital to the growth of Tuloy-- not only in the number of kids served but in the quality of the service given. The award that Tuloy received last year, the Consuelo Foundation´s Award of Highest Excellence, says it all. To all the volunteers out there, KUDOS and THANK YOU!
