Youth Civic Engagement Training

Edgardo Mendoza III, Arjay Pagcaliwagan, and Maximo Pel, along with Teacher Cesar Laguilles, represented Tuloy in a 3 day/2 night- Youth Civic Engagement Training in Villa Cristina Resort & Hotel in Antipolo City last August 11-13, 2005. The objective of the training camp was to provide youth participants and mentors with capabilities for meaningful civic engagement for community or institutional development. After the training, each participant is expected to be able to identify and respond to the needs of his community through a process of simple environmental scanning, that is, looking for fertile opportunities for the youth to get involved in the development of their community or their school. Tuloy Foundation thanks Consuelo Foundation and Levis Strauss Foundation for sponsoring this training.

Teacher Rico Vallecer was unanimously voted as the new President of Interact Advisers for Rotary District 3830. Earlier during the week, Tuloy´s YSY Council members were inducted as the first members of the Tuloy Interact Club.
